A lot of people use GMAIL for its simplicity. It has an easy-to-use interface that anyone can understand, even those who aren't tech savvy at all. And just like how we use our cell phones to communicate with other people, so does everyone else on this planet. We send text messages, emails, tweets -- pretty much anything goes through it.  But there are some things in life where having more than one option isn't always practical or necessary. Like when someone sends you something important via snail mail. You want them to get their message as quick as possible, but you don't need another person sending your mail back saying "I got your letter." So what happens when someone tries to sign up for an online service using only one primary email address? How can they register without being rejected because of duplicate email addresses? In short...how do you have two different email addresses under one gmail account? Let's find out!

How do I set up a new Gmail account if I already have one?

If you're reading this article then chances are you've signed up for an account before. If not, here's how to go about creating one. First off, visit www.gmail.com from any web browser. Then click on the Create Account button located near the top right corner of the screen. After clicking on that link, you'll be presented with several tabs. The first tab will show you step by step instructions on setting up your profile, while the next few tabs (depending on the type of account) will ask you questions pertaining to which services you'd like to subscribe to.

In my case, I'm going to select Web Applications (WiseStamp). Once you hit the Next button, you should see a pop up window asking you to verify whether or not you really actually own the domain name associated with your e-mail address. Click Yes, This Is My Email Address and continue onto the next page. At this point, you may be asked to enter additional information such as your credit card info, billing zip code, etc. When everything looks good, hit Sign Up Now. A confirmation box will appear stating that your registration was successful. Congratulations! Your new Gmail account has been created.

Once you log into your newly created account, you should notice that there are no contacts yet. That means you still haven't added anyone to your list of existing friends, family members, colleagues, acquaintances, or whoever else. To add somebody, head over to settings & privacy and scroll down until you see Manage Contacts. Hit edit and fill in your friend's name and birthday. Make sure you also check the boxes beside Send New Emails As and Allow Contact Finding By Name. Finally, hit save changes. Note: Some say that after adding a contact, try visiting http://www.googlecontacts.org/from within your Google Contacts page. However, I found that doing so didn't work for me. Also, please note that if you ever close your browser, you lose access to these extra features as well.

Can I have 2 Gmail accounts with same phone number?

No, you cannot. All incoming calls made to either account will ring both numbers simultaneously. Here's why - If someone called your old email address, your current mobile device would pick up the call. Then, since your phone wasn't programmed to know which number to direct calls to, it would forward the call to your personal voicemail. Since you had never registered for Voice Mail Forwarding, none of your contacts could receive a voice greeting for you. On the other hand, if someone tried calling your new email address, your previous phone wouldn't recognize the number as yours. Therefore, it wouldn't put the caller on hold and dial your actual phone line automatically. Instead, your former cellphone would simply hang up. What about outgoing calls though? Well, let's assume that someone sent you an email and said "Call 555-555-5555". If you received a call at home and answered it, your phone company might think that the call came from your new phone number instead of your original number. Thus, it might charge you higher rates for long distance calls.

How do I create a 2nd email address?

The easiest way to create a second email address is to follow these steps below:

1.) Go to Settings & Privacy.

2.) Scroll down until you see Manage Accounts.

3.) Select Add Another Email Address.

4.) Enter in your desired username and password combination. Please note that you won't be able to change passwords later once you've entered them.

5.) Choose a unique password for each email address, preferably alphanumeric characters. For security purposes, make sure you keep the secondary email separate from your main one.

6.) Remember to enable forwarding for your secondary email. Otherwise, whenever you reply to an email addressed to your main inbox, it will end up in that specific account too.

7.) Lastly, choose whether you want to share the same login credentials with your secondary email. If yes, make sure you remember to keep it safe in a secure location.

8.) Logout of your account. Head over to the second email address you just created. Login again.

9.) Verify that both email addresses' signatures look okay. Then scroll down to view your options.

10.) Change the Primary Email field to whichever address you wish to receive notifications.

11.) Save changes.

12.) Repeat steps 9 and 10 for every single account you plan on opening.

13.) Enjoy!

So now you've successfully opened a second email account. One thing to take note of though: If you decide to delete either of the above email addresses, you must wait 24 hours before deleting the second account. Why? Because Gmail doesn't allow you to remove your account unless you leave enough time for others to migrate their data. Which brings us to question #14...

How do I make up a second email address?

Well, you probably guessed it already. Just repeat steps 11 and 12 for any remaining email accounts. There ya go! Two or three days worth of waiting shouldn't bother you too badly.

For example, let's say that you used Google Apps to open 3 email accounts. Perhaps you wanted to give yourself a break, so you decided to close down one of them. Unfortunately, closing the account deletes ALL OF YOUR MESSAGES AND DATA at the same time. Meaning, you couldn't retrieve deleted files, unfinished documents, photos, attachments, and plenty more. Luckily, Google provides a feature known as Delegation whereby certain administrators can temporarily transfer control of an account to anybody. When it comes to keeping up with your inbox (and all of those emails that keep pouring in), there’s no better way than using Gmail. It may not be as ubiquitous an application as Yahoo Mail or Outlook, but its popularity has been growing steadily since being launched back in 2004 by then-Google employees Paul Buchheit and Chad Dickerson.  It grew so much in fact, that Google bought out Sparrow for $100 million dollars just last year. In 2014 alone, Gmail was used more than 300 million times per day. So what does this mean for you? How many Gmail accounts can you actually use at once? And can you even set up two different email addresses on the same email provider? Here are some answers to these questions and others.

Let’s start off with answering the first question - yes! You can definitely have two separate Gmail accounts. Some people like to use their own personal domain name while other prefer using gmail.com because it gives them greater control over when they want to receive mail from certain senders. Either way works fine, though having a secondary “send only” eMail account will come in handy during spam situations where you don't want every single person who knows about your online dating profile to see your latest photos. Another reason might include needing to avoid sending sensitive information via regular mail. With Gmail you can add additional filters depending upon which type of content you would rather direct towards specific people or groups.

How do you create a second Gmail email address?

1) Log into Gmail. Click the Gear icon next to your username followed by Settings & Accounts. Under Send Mail As click Create another account. You'll get redirected to a page asking you choose between adding a password or confirming your existing security code. Choose Password. Enter your desired login details for both email accounts. Note that you must verify each account separately, otherwise you could end up mixing up your emails.

2) Once logged in, go ahead and checkmark Add a second email address. This will allow you to select whether you'd like to forward messages sent to either account onto the second one. If you're going to use this feature, make sure you copy down your current mailing address before proceeding further. Otherwise you won't know where to find your verification codes later.

3) Now you've got two options. The first option allows you to send mail through your main account from any of your devices without having to log in again. Simply sign in with your standard credentials. To access this function, you should enable IMAP settings. Go to Forwarding and POP/IMAP " Enable forwarding. Then follow steps 3a and 3b below.

3a) Next, scroll down until you see More... Select Manage labels and colors. Checkmark Show my custom color label. Hit Done. This lets you pick a unique color for your secondary email account.

3b) On the following screen, enter the full URL for your secondary email account. For example, if your secondary email account is called'secondary@mydomain.net' enter http://www.googlemail.com. Scroll down until you reach Sign in and fill out your user ID and password. Confirm your identity by clicking Verify now. Finally hit Submit. You can also adjust your privacy settings if you wish.

4) At long last, you can begin receiving mails. They arrive exactly as they did on your original account. However, you still have the ability to filter incoming mail and apply rules based on sender. Just head to Filters " New Filter.... Type in keywords such as @gmail.com, @mydomain.net, etc. to search for emails coming from particular domains. Use the dropdown menu beneath the text box to change your filter criteria. Alternatively, try typing in terms such as [name], [address]. By default, however, you cannot sort your filtered results by date. That said, you can always perform searches by time period. Head to Search Tools " Advanced Search... and choose Date range from the left sidebar. Change the From field to whatever you entered in step 4 above. Lastly, hit Save.

5) When you open up your secondary mailbox, you’ll notice that any message addressed to your old email address gets forwarded automatically (unless it contains images). Similarly, any email sent to your new email address arrives immediately. Messages sent to neither account will appear in your inbox. This process is known as alias routing.

6) Don’t forget that you can set up aliases within your secondary email address too. A good thing to remember is that aliases work differently than forwarding. Aliases let you customize the appearance of outgoing messages. For instance, you can tell Gmail to display your alternate email address whenever someone sends you an email instead of your usual one. Or, you can append something onto the beginning of a message and hide part of it. Try entering the word ‘test’ after your name and seeing what happens. You’ll be able to read test along with everything else that follows.

7) Also, keep in mind that you can switch between your two Gmail accounts simply by signing into whichever one you currently happen to be browsing.

Now we move onto the final question - can you create multiple Gmail accounts if you already have one?  The answer is absolutely. There are plenty of reasons why you would want to do this, including avoiding confusion among family members regarding which email to respond to, or wanting to maintain separation between business and private life. After all, if you can afford to buy a house, surely you can afford to pay for an extra few gigabytes right?

Here’s how you create a third Gmail account:

First things first, ensure that you've properly configured your account. Make sure you've enabled less secure apps as well as syncing your contacts. You’ll also want to double check your preferences under Labs. These settings determine whether or not you’ll have to confirm the authenticity of links sent to you when signing up for web services.

Next up, download Chrome extension Impersonate Your Email Address. Launch the app and input your preferred alternative email address. You’re free to replace it with anything you’d like, provided it doesn’t violate the Terms of Service agreement.

Create your new Gmail account. Fill out your basic info and proceed to generate a password. Now paste your alternative email address into the confirmation section. Do note that this needs to match up with your alternative email address. You can now close the website tab.

Sign into your newly created Gmail account. Proceed to link your two accounts together. Visit Settings" General " Content Settings. Ensure that Replace Primary Email with Alternate Email appears unchecked.

That’s it! You’ve successfully added a new Gmail account.

Can I create a new Gmail account if I already have one?

You betcha! All you need to do is repeat steps #1 to #9, except this time around, input your primary email address. Remember that you’ll need to verify your new account separately, lest you accidentally mix up your emails. Also, make sure that you disable Less Secure Apps prior to doing so.

As far as creating multiple accounts goes, you’ll probably want to stick to the guidelines listed earlier. Most importantly, never lose track of your secret recovery codes. Keep copies in several locations, including hidden folders inside Dropbox.

Lastly, take care to safeguard your passwords. Be wary of sites that ask you to input large amounts of data, especially when it relates directly to financial transactions. Consider installing LastPass, which offers a variety of useful features including generating strong passwords.

Can I create multiple Gmail accounts under one Google Account?

Yes! Though it requires a bit of setup, it’s possible to create duplicate Gmail accounts under your main Google account. First off, you need to activate two-step verification. Head to Security " Two-Step Verification. Follow steps 5a and 5b to complete activation.

Once activated, go to your Other People page. Find the section labeled View Profile. Double check the phone number associated with your main account.

Head over to your new Gmail account. Click on the gear icon next to your profile picture. Click Preferences. Set Up Senders Notifications to Yes. This ensures that you’ll be notified whenever anyone tries to initiate contact via your non-primary account.

Finally, go to Security " Login Verification Phones. Input your mobile number twice. One entry should say Active and the other should say Codes Only. You can leave the rest of the fields blank. Once done, hit Continue.

To finish configuring your duplicated account, return to your main account. Access your Other People page. Look for the section marked Duplicate Emails. Click Edit Details. Copy and paste the numbers found underneath your new email address. Then verify your identification by calling the number displayed on your modified security code page.

The question of whether or not someone could have two different email addresses isn't exactly a novel one. The internet has been debating this topic for years now -- some say that it shouldn't be possible while others insist that anyone who wants to should be able to use whatever they want.

In terms of email services, there aren't too many out there besides Hotmail (which Microsoft shut down in 2019) and Yahoo! Mail which was recently acquired by Verizon Media Group. However, GMAIL is still going strong as one of the biggest names in online communication today. It also happens to be an official product from Google itself, so we're pretty confident that it will always stay around at least until 2022 when its next big update hits.

With all these facts in mind, let's explore what options people actually have nowadays when it comes to having more than one email address. And yes, you read that title correctly -- you can technically have two separate emails under your name without ever creating two different profiles on social media platforms.

Can you have 2 email addresses?

Yes, but only one primary email address. In 2021, Gmail allows you to add another email address to your profile alongside your main one. This secondary email doesn't necessarily need to be a personal account either -- businesses can get a special version called a "work" email address for their business purposes.

If you currently have both email addresses linked to the same profile on Facebook or Twitter, then you'll see them appear as such once you log into those specific sites. If you've created two completely independent profiles on any other platform like LinkedIn or Instagram, then you'll see both email addresses show up separately.

However, it's important to note that adding additional email addresses does come with certain restrictions. For example, you cannot send messages using your secondary email unless the recipient specifically replies back to your email first. Also, you won't receive notifications about comments made on your posts through your second email. You can check current policies regarding work-related emails here.

Another thing to consider is that whenever you sign up for a website or app, it usually asks you to provide your primary email address before proceeding further. So even though you may have added a second one earlier, chances are you'd probably end up deleting it because it wasn't used anyway. After all, why would you want to register for something twice?

As far as privacy goes, Google says that it uses your primary email address to match your account with your activity across various products and services. Therefore, making an extra account might violate your privacy. As long as you don't share details between the two accounts, everything should be fine.

That said, you can delete your secondary email altogether after logging into your Google Account settings. To do so, click on your Profile picture icon located at the top right corner of every page, scroll down to Signing in & security, and select Manage Accounts. Now go over to Other Email Addresses and remove whichever ones you no longer need.

Can I have 2 email addresses on Gmail?

This is where things start getting interesting. While you can theoretically have multiple email addresses tied to the same profile on a third party site, that doesn't apply to Gmail directly. On the contrary, you can have as many inboxes as you want within your own Gmail account.

To do so, head over to Settings " General " Multiple Inboxes, and choose Create Labels to make labels for each individual mailbox. Then just drag and drop existing labels onto the boxes that correspond to your desired mailboxes. Once done, you can switch between them via the tabs along the top.

You can also change the order of these labels by dragging and dropping their positions. Finally, hit Save Changes and wait for your new labelds to show up automatically. Note that you must follow similar steps to turn off Primary Label again if you ever decide to deactivate that feature.

Now that you know how to create additional inboxes, it's time to learn how you can rename them. Just click on the small arrow next to the label box, and type in whatever you prefer instead.

It's worth mentioning that you can only create unlimited numbers of email aliases per domain. That means, if you registered for dozens of free web domains during registration periods, then you wouldn't be able to give each of them unique identities. Fortunately, you can fix this problem simply by removing unused domains from your account.

Can I have 2 Google accounts?

While you can technically open multiple Gmail accounts tied to the same phone number, Google limits this option to one non-personal account. This essentially means that if you wish to keep two or three different Gmail addresses for yourself, you'll have to pay for premium plans.

On the bright side, Google gives everyone access to 15GB storage space regardless of plan tier. So you can store plenty of photos, videos, documents, etc., without worrying about running out of room anytime soon.

But if you were hoping to have two or more personal Gmail accounts, that unfortunately won't happen either. Instead, you'll have to rely on Google One and invite friends and family members to join it.

Here's how to get started: Visit the Personal Document Service homepage, and enter your email address. Next, verify your identity by clicking Get Started and entering your password. Once approved, you'll be given access to 15 GB of cloud storage space. Invite your friends and family members by sharing the link to download the PDF file containing instructions on how to enroll.

Google One includes several features including bill payment, travel insurance, subscriptions, and more. Plus, it offers discounts on apps and games, and provides cashback benefits.

How do I set up a new Google account if I already have one?

One perk of being a longtime user of Google is that it tries to streamline processes wherever possible. That's especially true for signing up for new websites, mobile devices, or software programs.

So once you realize that you've forgotten your password or haven't logged into your account for months, fear not. All you need to do is visit the Recovery section and enter your email/phone number. A few days later, you'll receive an SMS message letting you reset your password. Remember to write down your recovery code on a piece of paper somewhere safe.
