Is a Linkedin Business Page Linked to My Personal Account?

Yes, but only if you have multiple accounts on LinkedIn. However, if you choose to merge your personal account with a company page, you will lose access to certain parts of your personal profile including photos, videos, emails, messages, etc.

There are many instances where merging your accounts together is beneficial. One of them is during onboarding. During the initial stage of establishing a new account, you will most likely encounter a message asking whether you'd like to merge your existing accounts. Click Yes and you will gain instant access to all your content through the merged account. In fact, you can even log in to your old account whenever you feel the urge to visit.

However, you should exercise caution and tread carefully when choosing to link your accounts together. Because once you hit a certain threshold, you will no longer have control over your content. That said, if you prefer to keep your accounts separate, you can simply switch between them depending upon the situation.

Also note that the process of linking accounts takes place within 24 hours of creation. You cannot undo the action once done. So if something bad happens down the line, you better be prepared to deal with it.

Why Can’t I Create a LinkedIn Business Page?

As mentioned earlier, you can either opt to keep your profile private or share limited information with others. With the Profile Changes tool, you can adjust your appearance, display preferences, etc. without worrying about negative consequences.

To put it bluntly, this update was designed to protect your identity against hackers and spammers. While this sounds great, it came with a side effect known as'shadow banning' which prevents you from posting anything on LinkedIn.

While there is no concrete evidence proving that shadow ban exists, the theory behind it revolves around the idea that the platform relies heavily on algorithms to determine your status on LinkedIn. By hiding your posts from the algorithm, chances are high that they will never appear in your feed. Hence, nobody will know that you exist.

Fortunately, however, the problem seems to be temporary and has been reported by numerous users across social media platforms like Reddit and Quora. So if you haven't received any notifications claiming that your posts were hidden due to shadow ban, then rest assured that it wasn't intentional.

What you can try doing next is contacting LinkedIn directly and requesting them to remove the blockage. Or you can ask your followers to retweet your posts in order to notify the system that you exist. Just remember that if you continue ignoring the issue, there's a very strong possibility that your account will eventually get deactivated altogether.

Once again, you must emphasize that the removal of shadow bans is completely voluntary and comes with no guarantees. Also, since this is happening quite frequently lately, experts believe that LinkedIn will probably implement additional measures in the future to prevent abuse. Unfortunately, there's nothing much you can do until then.
