Does HubSpot provide email templates?

HubSpot offers two types of templates - ones that you can use as starting points to craft your own emails and others that you can customize using its built-in editor. Here we'll take a look at both options.
How do I create a custom email template in HubSpot?
The first thing you need to understand about creating email templates in HubSpot is that they work differently than normal website pages. When you go to add a new template through the Content Builder (or any page) you will see three tabs along the top labeled "Template", "Edit" and "Preview". Clicking either tab opens the editor where you can start typing out your message or copy-and-paste text already written down. If you want to change something specific within the body of the email you can click on the little arrow next to the word “body” and choose between different sections such as Headers & Footers, Text Only, Images, Links, etc… When you’re finished editing just hit Save Template and the changes will be saved automatically.
After saving you should now have a new email template waiting for you inside of your HubSpot account. In order to get started using this template right away you need to upload it to the appropriate folder where it will become available to every subscriber you send emails to. To do this navigate to Marketing Tools " Email Templates and select Add New Template. Then browse to wherever you saved your file and click Upload. Once uploaded the new template will appear under the name of whatever subject line you used when uploading it. From here you can preview the entire email including headers, footers, images, links, etc... before actually publishing it to subscribers.
It may seem redundant to repeat steps above once again but this process ensures that your template is always ready whenever you need to send a customized email. We recommend placing this option at the very end of your email automation workflow because it saves time while ensuring that no typos slip past the editors during final review.
There are some advanced features that might make sense depending on whether you plan to keep your email template simple or not. For example, if your goal is to publish to a large number of people quickly, you may want to consider using Google Sheets instead of HubSpot’s native spreadsheet app. That way everyone gets access to the same data and you won’t need to worry about duplicating efforts.
However, if you prefer working directly in HubSpot, then you can easily export your spreadsheet to a CSV format and import it back into HubSpot using our guide. Another benefit of using spreadsheets is that you can save yourself the trouble of converting long URLs into hyperlinks in case someone accidentally clicks on them. Instead, you can simply highlight the URL and press CTRL+C to copy the value. Paste it into the corresponding field when exporting the sheet.
How do I create my own email template?
Creating your own email template is really pretty straightforward and only requires a few steps. First, head over to HubSpot's main menu and find Email Design under the Marketing section. Next, click Create New Template. Now you'll be able to enter the title of your email, select Subject Line Type, Preview Options, and finally Customize the Editor. From here you can paste in some text, insert pictures, and even link to webpages. After making sure everything looks good, click Save, Publish and Send Test Message. Your email will show up in your list of test messages.
Next, open up the email sent via Gmail or Outlook and compare it against the preview window. Make any necessary adjustments until you think it looks perfect. If you made mistakes or changed things too drastically you can undo those changes by clicking Undo Changes button located at the bottom left corner of the editor screen. Finally, click Publish and Send Final Version. Now your template is complete and ready to use.
Can you create HTML emails in HubSpot?
Yes! Just follow the same directions provided above except skip Step 2 and proceed straight to the third step. Then, after adding a picture and copying/pasting the URL, you’ll notice that the image has been inserted as a blockquote rather than inline code. The reason why is because the default setting is set to Use HTML5 Blockquote Markup. Change that to Insert Image Tag and voila! An embedded graphic appears below the quote. You can also control font size, color, background colors, alignment, and spacing.
You can embed videos too by changing the settings to Insert Video Tag. However, if you need to display media files larger than 1MB you must switch to Insert Embedded Media Tag otherwise the browser will crash.
Finally, you can also adjust the formatting of the whole document using CSS. Simply hover over the blue bar in the top center of the editor screen and click Edit Stylesheet. A pop-up box will appear asking you to locate the stylesheet associated with the current theme. Double click on the highlighted style tag and begin tweaking the various properties until you reach the desired result.
Does HubSpot have newsletter templates?

Where do I find email templates in HubSpot?
The first step towards building a successful email campaign is getting started. There are two main places you should start looking for email templates:
HubSpot's Template Builder: On the left sidebar under Templates & Files, you'll find a section called "Templates." Clicking here takes you directly to the Template Builder page where you can begin designing your email template. Here, you can choose among several different layouts, add images and logos, customize colors, fonts, and other design elements, and build out your email template completely from scratch. Once complete, simply copy and paste the URL code onto your website or blog post, and send out your customized email.
Sales Content Analytics: Within your Account Dashboard, you can view detailed statistics on the performance of specific campaigns. To access those stats, navigate to Campaigns & Leads > All Campaigns & Leads. From here, select one of your campaigns and head over to the Statistics tab at the top. Under Delivery Options, you'll see an area titled Send Emails. Click Edit next to this field to display the list of all available email templates associated with your account. Each template includes a unique URL that you can paste anywhere you'd like on your site or blog. For example, if you're trying to track clicks for your affiliate links, you could include your affiliate ID number in place of the URL above.
Once pasted into your site or blog, visitors who receive the email will be able to click the link to immediately see the full email layout inside their browser window.
Where do you find email templates in HubSpot?
You may notice that we haven't discussed where exactly you might go find email templates in HubSpot specifically. That's because HubSpot allows users to store email templates locally on their computer -- meaning you don't actually need to visit the Template Builder page mentioned previously. Instead, you just need to save the file somewhere on your hard drive, and then point the appropriate address to that folder whenever you wish to distribute another email. So long as the email addresses themselves follow the proper format, you won't run into any issues.
Another alternative is to embed the HTML code generated by the Template Builder into your webpage or blog post via the Advanced Editor feature. In this case, you must set up a custom domain name for your hosted website, since your email template URLs cannot contain spaces. However, once again, you only need to change the URL portion of the email address to match whatever hostname you've assigned to your website. This method works well for blogs and websites that already exist, but doesn't offer much flexibility for setting up multiple email accounts.
As you can imagine, storing files locally isn't the safest approach due to security concerns. While there are no known vulnerabilities of concern related to email templates, you certainly shouldn't share these files publicly on Dropbox or Google Drive either. This is especially true if you plan on sharing large numbers of emails between customers. Instead, keep the templates safely backed up in your company's network server(s), and then reference the relevant email addresses whenever necessary.
Where are templates stored in HubSpot?
By default, the template directory for your HubSpot installation resides in the Documents\My Sites subfolder of your profile root. The actual path varies depending upon which version of HubSpot you're running, but regardless, the structure remains the same. Inside your My Site folder, you'll find folders named after the individual profiles you created during setup. Then, inside each profile, you'll find additional folders named according to the particular role played by the user.
For instance, if you were to log into your HubSpot account with the Administrator user account, you'll see a My Site folder containing a Profile 1 folder, a Profile 2 folder, etc. Similarly, if you had the Business Manager role enabled, you'd see the My Site folder containing Folder X1, Folder Y2, and others. Finally, if you used the Client User role, you'd see a My Site folder containing Folder Z3, Folder W4, etc.
Each of these folders contains a subdirectory called Data, which houses all of your saved data, including templates. At the very end of the structure, you'll see a single folder called Media, which stores all uploaded documents such as PDFs, PowerPoint presentations, Word docs, Excel sheets, photos, videos, audio recordings, etc.
Keep in mind that the My Site folder is accessible to anyone who logs into your account. Therefore, it's highly recommended that you hide the contents of this folder behind a password protected login screen. Otherwise, someone else could easily gain access to your private documents and unintentionally leak sensitive information.
Where can I find email templates?
While the majority of templates reside in your My Site folder, you can still browse the rest of the folders throughout your account to locate certain files manually. Just remember to check carefully before downloading anything, because some files contain restricted permissions and thus may not appear until you've logged back into the admin panel of your website.
To search for files and folders within your HubSpot account, just enter a keyword phrase into the Search box located near the upper-right corner of the homepage. When finished searching, hit Enter to move on. Alternatively, you can also click the magnifying glass icon situated below the Search bar to perform a global search.

If you're completely clueless when it comes to coding but still want to try something different, HubSpot provides prebuilt email designs you can copy and paste directly into your template. There are plenty of options to choose from, including ones focused around specific industries, services, or even holidays. Once you find the design you think would look good at the top of your email list, click Edit Template and copy/paste the code straight onto your page. It'll take some tweaking here and there but once you figure out what works best, you should see results pretty quickly.
How do I create a custom email in HubSpot?

To start editing your email, head over to Content " Email Templates. From there, you can either select a pre-made template or drag & drop your design onto the editor. One great feature of HubSpot is its ability to automatically update certain sections of your email based on data pulled from HubSpot Analytics. This includes things like title, sender name, subject line, etc. So while you may have written the entire body of your email yourself, HubSpot does the heavy lifting behind the scenes to ensure everything is properly formatted. The end result is a seamless experience where you can focus on writing engaging content rather than worrying about formatting and layout.
You can preview your email after hitting Save & Send. You can also change the order of various elements within your email (e.g., header vs. footer) and test variations until you land on the perfect version. When you're happy with your final product, hit Publish & Preview to check out your finished piece.
Does HubSpot have email builder?
HubSpot offers two types of builders--HTML and Campaign Builder. Both allow you to craft out individual pieces of your email (header, body, signature). However, HTML allows you to add dynamic text throughout your email whereas Campaign Builder uses images to show people what to expect inside of your email. While both tools offer similar features, we recommend starting off with Campaign Builder because it helps you avoid common mistakes like missing closing tags and unresponsive links. Plus, you can export your campaign into a.CSV file, allowing you to easily import it into Outlook or another platform.
If you decide you prefer HTML, the process isn't nearly as complicated. Simply navigate to Content " Emails & Templates " Design and begin typing away. Remember, though, that HTML is going to require a bit more effort up front. Your website needs to be optimized for mobile viewing, so you'll have to spend extra time ensuring your site loads correctly on smaller screens. You'll also be limited to using plaintext instead of fancy fonts and graphics. Still, the benefits far outweigh any negatives. After you finish uploading your image(s), you can save your draft and continue working on your actual email.
The last option is Campaign Builder. Here, you won't actually compose the full email itself. Instead, you'll upload an image of your logo or branding material and place it anywhere on the page. As long as it appears somewhere on the screen, HubSpot knows what to display. You can tweak the size, color scheme, and position of your logo, and the rest of the page follows suit. Since everything else is already laid out, you can move forward with drafting your email.
Does HubSpot have email templates?
