How do I check messages on my email account?

Your first step will likely be logging into whichever website offers your email service through its platform. For instance, when signing up for a new Hotmail account, you'd need to provide your name, password, and security question/answer. Then click Next after entering these details, and select Sign In. Below that, select My Profile for general information about your account. On the right sidebar, you'll find three buttons labeled Home, Messages, and Accounts. Each button opens a separate tab within the site. Within those tabs, you'll find links to various tools. Some examples include Contact Lists, Sent Items, and My Alerts.

Outlook 2016: When you sign in, you'll immediately land on the dashboard. From there, click View " Your Name " All Mailboxes. A new window appears listing every single mailbox associated with your account. Select the desired box and click More Options to change things around.

Gmail: The front page displays your recently opened messages, starred messages, drafts, labels, filters, and more. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen to reveal your inbox. It looks something like the image above.

iCloud: Logging in lets you create folders, add tags, edit messages, and more. After clicking Done, head back to the main interface and choose Folders under Preferences to get started organizing your incoming data.

Microsoft 365: The home page includes Recent Activity, Message Preview, Quick Links, Settings, and Help Center. Once inside your inbox, you'll see two tabs at the top: Recently Deleted and Archive. The rest of the page consists of individual email threads arranged alphabetically by sender.

Hotmail: The homepage has links to frequently used functions such as sending a new message, replying, and composing a draft. At the bottom of the page, you'll find five icons to jump directly to different parts of the site. They include Send, Reply, Compose New Message, Mark As Read, and Delete.

Users can further customize their experience by selecting which columns appear alongside the content. Alternatively, you could try installing Eudora instead. It's free, open source, and supports both POP and IMAP protocols. However, it does not currently offer support for Gmail accounts.
