Is HubSpot good for email?

Is HubSpot good for email?

Email marketing has long been a cornerstone of digital advertising, but the rise of social media in recent years has meant more people are using platforms like Facebook to communicate directly with brands.

But what about email itself? Can it still be used as your primary communication tool if you're looking at alternatives to services such as MailChimp or AWeber that specialize in email marketing? And can companies use other software such as HubSpot to power their own email campaigns? Let's take a look.

Is HubSpot an email platform?

HubSpot describes its service as "a Marketing Platform built on People & Technology." It offers both enterprise solutions and individual plans that include features such as CRM (customer relationship management), ecommerce, mobile apps development, CMS content publishing, SEO, PPC ads, newsletter creation and automation, lead generation, etc., all accessible via intuitive drag-and-drop interfaces.

You'll need to sign up for a free account before being able to access any of these features. Once logged into your account, you can begin building out your website or blog through the Content Management function, which allows users to edit HTML code without needing to know anything technical. You also have options for creating landing pages, newsletters, product catalogs, forms, surveys, events and so much more! If you don't want to build from scratch yourself, there are templates available too.

The company states that it currently supports over 100 languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Russian, Polish, Romanian, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Turkish, Finnish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Filipino, Indonesian, Greek, Hungarian, Czech, Ukrainian, Arabic, Hebrew, Afrikaans, Urdu, Icelandic, Cree and Navajo.

As far as pricing goes, HubSpot gives three different packages depending on the number of users needed by the business: Starter ($19 per user/month), Pro ($29.95) and Enterprise ($49.95). The latter includes unlimited accounts, support staff assistance, automated workflows, custom domains and autoresponder integration.

What type of platform is HubSpot?

For those who aren't familiar with email marketing terminology, here's some basic knowledge. Email marketing refers to sending emails out to potential customers in order to promote products and services. This method of marketing is often called permission based email marketing because it requires the recipient to opt into receiving future messages. These emails typically contain information regarding new products, sales, special promotions, etc. In addition to promoting goods and services, this medium of advertising can help businesses create brand awareness and increase customer loyalty.

MailChimp was founded in 2003 and continues to serve millions worldwide today. According to Business Insider, the popular email provider boasts over 2 million active subscribers across its various paid and unpaid lists. Its most well known feature is perhaps the ability to allow multiple senders to manage and track one single inbox, which makes managing large mailing lists less difficult. MailChimp does offer premium versions of its service including Plus ($9.99 per month) and Professional ($16.67 per month), each of which add additional features and benefits.

Aweber was founded in 1999 and serves nearly 3 million clients globally. It prides itself on offering customizable subscriptions where users set their preferences for things like frequency of updates, subject lines, auto responders, password protection, etc. Users also have the option to connect their social media profiles to Aweber, allowing them to keep followers updated on their latest projects. Like MailChimp, Aweber offers premium subscription plans that include priority shipping, extra storage space, enhanced security measures, advanced delivery tracking, etc. For $20.25 per month, Aweber promises professional level customer support, double spam filtering, higher deliverability rates and better reporting metrics.

Can you email marketing with HubSpot?

Yes! As mentioned earlier, HubSpot is a robust piece of software capable of handling just about every scenario imaginable when it comes to email marketing. However, while HubSpot may not be best suited for individuals who only require simple email marketing functionality, it certainly excels in terms of providing everything else necessary to successfully run a successful email campaign.

If you've ever tried to do email marketing alone, you already understand how challenging it can be to design effective promotional materials, develop engaging followup emails, handle unsubscribe requests, monitor performance analytics, generate reports and so forth. With HubSpot, however, you get a comprehensive suite of tools designed specifically to make emailing easier than ever.

To start, the platform provides hundreds of professionally designed email designs and layouts that you can adapt to suit your needs. When it comes time to write your actual message, you can easily integrate images, videos, audio files and documents right within the editor itself. Or, if you'd rather hand off the task to someone else, you can upload existing text and attach file attachments from Dropbox, Google Drive or Box.

Once your email is ready to go live, you can choose to publish it immediately onto your internal distribution list, or schedule it to release later. Then, once sent, recipients will receive your message automatically after a specified period of time — whether they opted in or not. Of course, you can always manually check on the status of your message, review results and even modify your template until it reaches everyone exactly as intended.

In addition to delivering important news and alerts, your emails should also provide useful answers to common questions pertaining to whatever topic you're targeting. To ensure your audience receives the info they seek quickly and efficiently, try breaking down complex topics into digestible chunks.

Lastly, email marketing with HubSpot is easy thanks to the inclusion of a powerful reporting system. Not only can you view statistics related to opens, clickthroughs, bounces and total revenue generated from your efforts, but you can also customize specific filters to further analyze data. You can sort results according to date range, sender domain, geographic region, subscriber count, referral source and many others.

Overall, HubSpot is probably best described as an all-inclusive email tool that takes care of almost any aspect of running an email marketing campaign. Whether you prefer to perform tasks solo or collaborate with a team, HubSpot has something to accommodate virtually anyone interested in email marketing.

And remember, HubSpot isn't limited to email marketing either. Using its Content Management feature, you can also post relevant articles, press releases, event announcements, job openings, FAQs, testimonials, photos, videos, podcasts and blogs straight to your site. So yes, you can indeed use HubSpot instead of MailChimp to conduct email blasts, update your readership with daily posts, host online forums and plenty more besides.

Can you use HubSpot instead of MailChimp?

While HubSpot is undoubtedly great for small businesses seeking to streamline their email marketing operations, larger enterprises would benefit greatly from having dedicated professionals working exclusively on their behalf. While HubSpot might be perfect for certain aspects of email marketing, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's ideal for all scenarios.

That said, if you simply desire to test drive HubSpot before committing to a full-fledged installation, we recommend giving the platform a shot while taking advantage of the trial version. Otherwise, you could consider hiring a third party vendor to complete the setup process for you, or signing up for one of HubSpot's starter kits. Both methods come with perks such as expert training, 24/7 tech support, ongoing updates, regular bug fixes and countless other advantages.

MailChimp has long been the go to service when it comes to getting started on an ecommerce business, but as more entrepreneurs have begun to turn their attention towards growing their company, they've become aware of another popular tool that can help them do just that - Hubspot Email Marketing Software.  HubSpot offers many different services which include everything from CRM software to website management, so what exactly does this mean in terms of receiving your emails? How much will you need to pay to use it and are there any other perks that come along with using its services? Keep reading to find out!

The first thing we should cover is what HubSpot actually does. It provides marketing automation solutions such as lead nurturing, list building, social media integration, SEO, etc., all through one central platform. The founders behind the company also were involved in founding Constant Contact back in 1998, which was later acquired by Yahoo in 2007 before being sold again to Google in 2011. In addition to helping businesses grow online, Hubspot also helps companies market offline through events, advertising, and public relations. Their main goal is to provide businesses with easy ways to connect with customers and build relationships. They accomplish this by providing users with useful information about themselves so that marketers know who to target specifically. This way they don't waste time or energy trying to reach people who aren't interested in hearing from them.

In order to get started using HubSpot, you'll need to sign up for a trial account. Once you're logged into your own personal dashboard, you're ready to begin exploring each of the available options. You can browse around until you find something interesting, then click on "Try Free" under the "Email" section. When you open up your new tabbed window, you'll be presented with four tabs at the top: Accounts, Lists, Campaigns, and Templates. Let's break down these areas individually to better understand where we stand right now.

Click on the "Accounts" link to view all of your current accounts. While here, you may want to check out some of HubSpot's most recent blog posts regarding the future of email marketing (here and here). There are two things worth mentioning if you plan on creating an email campaign with HubSpot: HubSpot supports Gmail SMTP servers and allows users to attach images within messages. If you already use Gmail, these features could really save you money on hosting fees. However, keep in mind that while HubSpot works well with Gmail, it doesn't support Microsoft Outlook 2003 or older versions.

Once you've decided which of your accounts you'd like to work with, simply select "Lists". A lot of times people tend to focus too heavily on their mailing lists without giving enough thought to how best to manage and organize those lists. With HubSpot, you can choose between three types of lists: Standard List, Targeted List, and Community List. These lists allow you to send emails based off specific criteria, whether it's targeted towards certain industries or even demographic groups. For example, you could create a community list comprised entirely of pet owners or medical professionals. Then, whenever someone subscribes to that particular group, you can easily send them relevant content via email. Of course, you won't always want to do this automatically. As mentioned previously, HubSpot gives you the ability to upload images directly onto your emails as attachments.

When you scroll further down, you'll notice several links labeled "Campaigns." That's because campaigns are essentially templates designed to give you access to prewritten emails. After selecting a template, you can customize it however you wish. There are hundreds of fully functional campaigns that you can download and edit at no charge whatsoever. One important note though: HubSpot only lets you use 10 active campaigns per user, after which point you must upgrade to a paid subscription.

Finally, once you've chosen either a standard or targeted list, you'll probably want to start putting together your actual email messages. On the left hand sidebar, you can select "Templates", where you can look over dozens upon dozens of professional looking newsletters, postcards, flyers and promotional pieces that you can immediately incorporate into your own marketing efforts. Just pick out anything that appeals to you, then adjust colors, fonts and sizes.

That covers our brief overview of HubSpot email marketing basics. Now let's talk a little bit about pricing plans and additional features.

What comes with HubSpot free?

As mentioned earlier, HubSpot's basic package includes ten active campaigns per user, unlimited autoresponders, 300 MB storage space, and 1 GB file size limit. Additionally, HubSpot offers a number of affordable packages including Starter ($19/month), Plus ($29/month), Pro ($39/month) and Enterprise ($49-$99/month). Each of these tiers offer unique benefits depending on what type of business owner you are. For instance, the Pro tier includes advanced analytics, API access, mobile app development, and site migration among other great perks.

If you decide to upgrade to the higher priced packages, you'll gain access to the full range of HubSpot products and services. Be warned, upgrading to the Enterprise level costs quite a bit less than paying monthly for a dedicated web host.

Another perk to HubSpot that not everyone knows about is the fact that they provide training sessions for absolutely FREE. Not sure what I'm talking about? Here's a quick rundown of what you'll learn during the courses:

How to Start Using Your New Account

Create & Manage Subscribers

Build Relationships Through Emails

Integrate Social Media Into Your Email Marketing Efforts

Content Creation Tips + Ideas

And More...

This kind of training isn't offered anywhere else. So if you ever feel overwhelmed with managing your newsletter, consider calling HubSpot and asking about joining one of their upcoming classes.

Lastly, there's one last feature that might interest anyone thinking about doing email marketing with HubSpot: HubSpot integrates seamlessly with Facebook and Twitter. Every time you write an update on your wall or tweet, you can insert hyperlinks straight into your status updates. From that point forward, potential clients or followers can visit your profile page and instantly read whatever message you posted. Pretty cool stuff!

Next up, we'll take a closer look at HubSpot Team Email.

What is a HubSpot email?

If you currently run a small business that needs help keeping track of multiple client interactions, HubSpot Team Email is definitely worth checking out. Essentially, HubSpot Team Email acts as a sort of virtual assistant for your entire organization. Whenever employees interact with customers, clients or vendors, they can enter notes and comments directly into HubSpot and assign tasks accordingly. Even better, you can set up auto responses for various situations and integrate third party applications as well. All of this happens in realtime, meaning that you never miss a beat when it comes to interacting with others.

Here's a hypothetical scenario demonstrating how HubSpot Team Email would operate: An employee receives an incoming phone call from a customer wanting to purchase a product. She enters the details of the conversation into HubSpot and assigns herself the task of following up with him tomorrow morning. Next, she checks her calendar and sees that she has an appointment scheduled with said customer for 9am tomorrow. Since she hasn't forgotten about his request, she goes ahead and schedules a meeting to review the situation personally. Finally, she logs off her computer and gets home, knowing that she'll follow up with the man when she arrives.

Now imagine having a whole team of employees working remotely across cities, states and countries. You wouldn't necessarily need office space anymore since everything takes place electronically. Furthermore, HubSpot makes collaboration easier than ever thanks to built-in chat capabilities. Employees can communicate via video calls, text messaging or voice recording, allowing for seamless communication regardless of location. To boot, you can utilize HubSpot's internal search engine to quickly locate documents, contacts, calendars and more.

One final thing worth noting is that HubSpot Team Email is completely customizable according to your preferences. Users can change backgrounds, icons, sounds and more to make their experience truly individualized. Best yet, HubSpot integrates seamlessly with Dropbox, allowing users to sync files throughout devices.

Let's wrap this article up with one last question and answer session.

What is HubSpot team email?

Essentially, HubSpot Team Email is similar to a shared inbox. Instead of having a single person responsible for monitoring every single interaction, users spread responsibility amongst themselves. Therefore, instead of having five managers watching over 100 hourly workers, each manager only monitors 3-5 individuals. Everyone still tracks progress and performance, but nobody feels inundated with extra stress.

Overall, HubSpot seems to offer a pretty decent value for the price. Whether you're a solo entrepreneur or part of a larger firm, there's bound to be a benefit to incorporating HubSpot email marketing into your workflow. Try signing up for a free trial today and see for yourself why thousands of businesses trust HubSpot as their primary method of communicating with consumers.

In this article, we'll look at the differences between HubSpot Marketing Suite and MailChimp when it comes to sending newsletters via email. We'll also talk about migrating your list of subscribers over if you're currently using MailChimp.

HubSpot is one of the world's largest providers of inbound technology solutions with more than 25 million customers worldwide including some of the biggest brands like Disney+, Google Cloud Platform, Hilton Worldwide, Johnson & Johnson, Microsoft Azure, Samsung Digital Experience, Salesforce.com, The Walt Disney Company and many others. It has offices around the globe and offers services that include customer support, CRM (customer relationship management), cloud computing, digital marketing automation, website development, mobile app design, and social media advertising.

MailChimp is an American company founded in 2003 by Ben Chestnut and his brother Carl Chestnut while he was still studying computer science at Stanford University. Since its founding, MailChimp has been known as "the most reliable way" to create, manage and deliver content through email. Its platform allows users to build their own mailing lists or subscribe to other people's lists, which they can then use to send out mass e-newsletters. More recently, MailChimp has expanded into web hosting, payment processing, and analytics software. According to CNBC, the company had $1 billion in sales in 2018. In 2019, MailChimp reported having 1.3 million active paying accounts. That same year, it surpassed 20 million total registered account holders.

We've written before on what makes HubSpot different from traditional email platforms like Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, Outlook, etc., but let's take another look so you can make informed decisions regarding whether to move your business over to HubSpot or stick with MailChimp.

Is HubSpot a competitor to MailChimp?

The answer depends on who you ask. For years now, MailChimp has dominated the industry. But there are plenty of companies offering similar features, such as Aweber, Constant Contact, InfusionSoft, Vertical Response, Sendinblue, etc. However, HubSpot does have a couple unique things going for it compared to other competitors. First off, it integrates nicely with all major online marketplaces, allowing marketers to collect leads directly onto their sites without needing to log into multiple websites to check each site separately. Secondly, HubSpot offers a variety of additional products beyond just being an email provider, including lead generation systems, custom landing pages, ad creation suites, and automated workflows. This gives businesses the ability to choose whichever product suits them best depending on where they want to focus. Lastly, HubSpot's pricing plans range from free to upwards of $15 per month for enterprise accounts. By contrast, most competing platforms only offer two price points -- either free or paid subscriptions.

If HubSpot doesn't appeal to your needs, here are some alternatives worth considering. If you're looking to get started quickly and don't mind working with someone new, consider using GetResponse instead of HubSpot. Or, if you need help building your database, try using MadMimi instead of HubSpot. And lastly, if you'd rather not pay anything at all, give Campaign Monitor a shot. You may find that it fits your budget better than any of these options.

As far as competition goes, both HubSpot and MailChimp are trying hard to keep up with each other. Both have introduced new products in recent months like HubSpot's Smart Capture feature and Mailchimp's Video Series. So, the real question becomes which service will be able to add new features faster and which will continue to improve existing functionality? As time passes, HubSpot could gain momentum in certain areas because of its larger size and resources. On the flip side, MailChimp might continue to grow thanks to its smaller stature and nimbleness. Only time will tell. Either way, if you decide to leave MailChimp, remember to export your data first. Read our guide on exporting your MailChimp data.

Can HubSpot send emails?

Yes, HubSpot definitely can send emails. One of the main reasons why people opt for HubSpot is because it lets them easily integrate third party apps within its ecosystem and automate repetitive tasks. Email is no exception to this rule. Once signed in, go to Settings > Integrations and click Add Integration. From there, select App Marketplace and search for whatever tool you wish to connect. Then, follow the instructions provided by the developer to complete setup. Keep in mind that all the integrations available vary based on your plan, so if you aren't sure what kind of integration you would need, contact your HubSpot representative.

Once integrated, you should receive an email letting you know that your connection went through successfully. Clicking on the Link button inside the message will open up the application page on your desktop screen along with a QR code. Scanning the code once it opens will trigger the integration to run. Depending on the type of integration selected, you will receive notifications whenever changes occur.

To test out the integration process, sign in to HubSpot Marketing Center (HMC) and navigate to Tools > Automations > New Automation. Search for the desired integration from the dropdown menu under Choose Service Type. Select Create Trigger and fill in the required fields. Finally, hit Save after making your selections. Now every time you send an email, it will automatically generate a newsletter template based on your preferences.

For example, say you wanted to set up a simple autoresponder series that sends out monthly holiday greetings to everyone on your subscriber list. To do this, head back to HMC and select Templates under Services. Scroll down until you reach Monthly Greeting Emails and pick Holiday Greetings. Copy the HTML snippet found underneath Insert Template Content. Go back to your email program, paste the HTML into the body of the email, and save the file. When composing future messages, simply drag and drop the greeting image from the editor window and insert it wherever you'd like in the text box. Hit Publish Message and voila! Your next email will be sent exactly as planned.

A lot of applications within HubSpot allow you to customize templates so that you can achieve similar results. Check out our tips on creating professional marketing emails with HubSpot.

How do I migrate from Mailchimp to HubSpot?

One thing to note about moving your list over to HubSpot is that HubSpot charges a small fee for transferring your contacts. Luckily, HubSpot provides a handy migration tool called Migrator Pro that walks you step-by-step through the entire transfer process. Head straight to https://migrationtool.hubspot.net/start, enter your information, and follow the prompts to finish setting everything up. Afterward, your list will be migrated over and ready for action.

Here's a quick breakdown of what happens during the transition:

First, Migrator Pro scans your current list and creates a copy of it on HubSpot.

Next, you'll be asked to review the newly created list and confirm if you wish to proceed.

After doing so, Migrator Pro will prompt you to import your old list from MailChimp.

Finally, your updated list will appear on HubSpot.

Now, you can start sending out newsletters to your subscribers again. Just remember that if you haven't upgraded to Enterprise level yet, you won't be charged this fee since HubSpot already knows your subscription details. If you ever change your mind about switching to HubSpot, you can always cancel the migration right away. Simply visit MigrationToolPro.com and delete your account. Otherwise, your migration will stay active indefinitely unless you manually stop it yourself.

Unfortunately, linking your MailChimp and HubSpot accounts isn't possible anymore due to privacy regulations. However, you can still access all your MailChimp settings and personalization profiles on your HubSpot dashboard. They remain untouched and unchanged. All you have to do is login to both your MailChimp and HubSpot accounts simultaneously and you'll be redirected to your preferred inbox accordingly.

Alternatively, you can also create a campaign in HubSpot that links to your MailChimp list. While this method may seem simpler, it requires manual intervention. Plus, you cannot create personalized campaigns for specific segments of your list unless you upgrade to Business Class. Instead, you must rely solely on pre-built templates.

So overall, HubSpot is pretty great for those who are interested in transitioning to email marketing, especially if you're concerned with security and privacy. Still, it's important to weigh all pros and cons before deciding to switch. Don't forget to explore HubSpot's full suite of marketing products too.
