Can you get someone's phone number from LinkedIn?

If you're looking for ways to find people’s numbers or emails on social media sites like Facebook and Twitter then the best place to start is with LinkedIn.

LinkedIn has become one of the most popular professional networking platforms in recent years with over 400 million users around the world. It doesn't matter whether you are an entrepreneur trying to build your business network or a job seeker looking for new opportunities. You'll probably end up using it at some point during your career.

You may have signed up to connect with friends and family but if you haven't yet connected with anyone professionally there is still plenty that you can do to add value to this platform. One thing that many professionals overlook when they sign up is their profile information. This includes things such as their phone number which could be useful if you need to reach out to them directly.

In this article we will look at how to get someone’s phone number from LinkedIn so you don’t have to waste time calling everyone by mistake!

How do I hide my phone number on LinkedIn?

One way to avoid accidentally giving away your personal data is to make sure that your phone number isn’t listed anywhere on your profile. If you go into Settings " Profile & Privacy and click Edit next to “Phone Numbers” you should be able to remove any existing entries.

However, if there were already contacts in here before signing up for a new account then you might not be able to completely delete all of them. Also keep in mind that while removing your current phone numbers won’t stop other members being able to view them, it will certainly hamper any attempts to call you back.

To avoid this problem you can use our How Do I Get Someone’s Email On Linkedin guide instead where we explain how to get someone’s email address. We also provide step-by-step instructions below for both types of information.

Does LinkedIn show my phone number?

It depends what type of access you give others to your profile. For example, if you grant your connections full edit permission then you’ll be able to change anything about yourself including your phone number. However, if you only allow these people to view certain parts of your profile such as your summary then they will only be able to see your name and photo (if you upload one).

This means that no one else will ever be able to see your phone number unless you decide to share it publicly. To do this just visit Settings " Account " My Info" under Contact Information and select Publicly Share Your Phone Number.

How do I hide my phone number and email on LinkedIn?

The easiest method would be to create another email ID through Gmail/Yahoo etc and link it to your LinkedIn account. Then when you log in to LinkedIn simply switch between accounts depending on who you want to send messages to. Once again this process works perfectly fine even though you aren’t technically switching profiles, however it does take longer than hiding your actual phone number.

Another alternative would be to use Google Voice. Just set up a separate line with voicemail enabled and forward calls made to this number straight to your main phone number. When receiving calls you can simply answer via Google voice and pick up on your computer.

While this option is more flexible than creating a second email account, it does require a little bit of work upfront – especially if you’re unfamiliar with setting up voicemails. Plus, if you regularly receive calls that you wish to ignore then you’d need to remember to turn off forwarding each time.

How do I join LinkedIn without a phone number?

There are two different options available here: either connecting anonymously or going incognito. Either way you’ll need to follow our steps below to ensure that your privacy settings remain intact.

First, if you want to connect anonymously to try and avoid having your real identity revealed online then you have a few options. The first is to install the app called Hushmail, which allows you to browse the web safely without revealing your IP address.

Alternatively, you can also use Signal to text message your friend list rather than sending individual texts. There is also a browser extension called NoScript that blocks scripts used by websites such as LinkedIn so you can stay anonymous while browsing the site.

Second, if you’ve got a valid reason for why you can’t reveal your true identity then you can always opt to go incognito. Click on the three horizontal dots icon located above the search box at the top right hand corner of the page and choose Incognito Mode.

Once inside this mode you’ll need to enter your password to return to normal viewing mode. Keep in mind that although you can continue to share content publicly within this mode, you won’t be able to see comments left by other users until you exit the incognito mode once again.

How do I get someone’s email address on LinkedIn?

Unfortunately, getting someone’s email address requires a bit more effort since they must first accept your request. In order to do this you’ll need to know their username which you can usually find on their public profile page.

For instance, if you wanted to retrieve John Smith’s email address you would open his profile page and copy his username from the URL bar. Next, head to Settings " Accounts & Connections " Add People and paste your username along with @johnsmith.com into the field provided. Enter your own password and hit Continue.

Now, wait for your request to appear in your inbox. If successful, you’ll receive an email notification letting you know that you now have access to the person’s private email address.

Does LinkedIn show my contact info?

Yes, unfortunately your entire contact database is visible on your profile. So even if you didn’t include your mobile number in your profile itself, your contact manager is likely to have added it anyway. Thankfully, LinkedIn provides several methods whereby you can hide your contact manager’s phone number from appearing on your profile.

Here’s how you can block someone’s contact manager from adding your phone number to your profile:

Go to Settings " Account " Manage Contacts.

Click on the arrow beside the entry for the contact manager whose number you wish to hide.

Select Block from the dropdown menu.

A confirmation window pops up warning you that blocking the number will prevent your contact manager from updating your profile. Hit OK and the number will disappear from your profile.

As mentioned earlier, LinkedIn also lets you control exactly which fields appear on your profile. By default, every single piece of information that makes up your profile appears. To get rid of specific sections, scroll down towards the bottom of your profile and uncheck whatever items you want removed.

After clicking Save Changes your changes will be saved immediately. Now whenever you update your profile LinkedIn will automatically pull in everything except those items you specifically chose to exclude.

Finally, if you really don’t fancy sharing any information whatsoever then you can always opt to make your profile invisible. Simply hover over your avatar image (the little blue circle) and click Make Invisible. A pop-up screen will display informing you that you cannot undo this action. Click Yes and your profile will vanish forever.

How do I get someone's phone number without asking them?

Even though LinkedIn shows us how to get someone’s phone number, you obviously don’t want to ask strangers for their digits unnecessarily. Luckily, there are several third party tools allowing you to bypass this security measure altogether.

For example, you can check out WhoHasYourNumber.net to discover if someone has your phone number stored somewhere on their system. All you need to do is input your phone number and the website will scan its records to help identify the owner.

Similarly, you can also run a quick Google reverse lookup in order to find out who owns a particular phone number. Again, just plug in the number you want to track down and let Google do the rest.

You can learn more about finding someone’s phone number on Wikipedia too. As well as providing basic background information, this resource lists various sources that might offer further insights.

Does LinkedIn have a built-in feature allowing me to extract contact details from other people?

No. However, you can easily scrape the information contained within someone else’s profile. While it’s unlikely that you’ll actually come across something that interests you personally, this technique can prove very useful when conducting research projects related to job hunting or market analysis.

Simply download the JSON file containing the relevant data and save it locally. After doing this you’ll be able to import this CSV file into Excel and perform simple calculations based upon the values found therein.

LinkedIn has become the go-to social network for professional networking and recruiting. It makes sense - it’s an easy way to share your resume with potential employers or clients, connect with colleagues in real life (if they have a LinkedIn account), and even make new friends by joining groups that are relevant to your field.

However, there’s one part of LinkedIn that most users don’t know about – you can easily search through all connections using their email address only. This means you could potentially track down personal information like bank accounts and online shopping history just by knowing someone’s email address. Even worse, if you use this same technique to search for other data, such as phone numbers, addresses, and photos, you might be able to uncover some embarrassing secrets!

If you really need to access someone’s personal information, then you should probably look elsewhere. However, when used responsibly, connecting via LinkedIn is quite useful. For example, you may want to send out mass emails to a group of people within your network. Or perhaps you want to reach out to someone at a specific company to offer your services. These requests will often require more than just your own name and email address, so having access to additional contacts would come in handy.

So what exactly does LinkedIn give us? We can see our full list of contacts, including names, job titles, education levels, skillsets, and much more. But we still can't seem to figure out where these contacts came from. How did they find me? What kind of algorithm allows me to find someones phone number based off their email alone? Is there a way to actually retrieve that person's phone number from LinkedIn?

Here's everything you need to know about getting someone's phone number from LinkedIn.

How do I remove my phone number from my profile?

The first thing you'll notice after creating a LinkedIn profile is that every single piece of information is public. If you're not comfortable sharing certain pieces of information publicly, then you shouldn't create an account in the first place.

When you sign up, you'll also get asked whether you'd prefer a public or private profile. You can choose between two options: Public or Private. The default option is set to "Public" but you can always change it later.

You also have the ability to delete your entire profile completely. To do this, click Settings & Privacy and scroll to the bottom of the page to find Deactivate Account. There's no reason to deactivate your account unless you absolutely hate LinkedIn forever.

To hide your phone number, you can simply type “hide” into the search bar and hit Enter. Your phone number won’t show up anymore.

How do I find sales prospecting phone numbers?

One of the best parts of working remotely is being able to work whenever you feel like it. While many companies encourage employees to keep regular office hours, remote workers tend to enjoy flexibility. And since everyone knows that telecommuting isn't going away anytime soon, why not take advantage of it?

There are several ways to find the right prospects for business development. One method involves searching for leads directly by looking through profiles. Since each user's profile includes their phone number, you could try calling those individuals. This approach works well if you already know the individual personally, and you've established trust over time.

Another strategy involves finding businesses that appear to be interested in hiring you. Instead of reaching out to random strangers, you could reach out to existing customers. Perhaps you worked with a client before and had formed a good rapport. You can start by sending a simple message thanking them for taking the time to meet with you. Then, follow up asking for advice on which products/services they think you should focus on next.

After chatting briefly, ask if you can call them during normal business hours. When speaking with someone, ask open-ended questions instead of direct inquiries. Try something along the lines of:

What problems do you struggle with most?  Is there anything else I can help you with today?

Once you get a few minutes together, ask for references and feedback. Make sure the conversation was helpful and productive. If things went smoothly, ask for another meeting sometime in the future. Once you establish a relationship, you can begin building stronger ties.

How do sales people get phone numbers?

It sounds strange, but salespeople are often given permission to request contact information from prospective buyers. As long as you aren’t trying to spam anyone, there’s nothing wrong with requesting this sort of information. In fact, it’s important because you never know when the opportunity to sell yourself will arise.

In addition to making cold calls, you can also leverage LinkedIn to build relationships with people you haven’t met yet. After establishing a trusted connection, you can invite the person to join your LinkedIn Group. They’ll likely accept, and then you can use the Group to initiate conversations. Eventually, you may decide to buy a product or service from the company. At that point, you can ask to speak with the owner for further introductions.

Even better, once the buyer agrees to meet with you face-to-face, you can arrange a coffee date. During this informal chat, you can casually inquire about their needs while subtly offering solutions. By doing this, you demonstrate that you understand their pain points, and you can convince them that you’re the person who can solve those issues.

Finally, you can show that you care enough about them to learn about their lives outside of work. Ask questions about family members, hobbies, interests, etc. and listen intently. If you pay attention to details, you’ll be surprised at how quickly you’ll develop a strong bond with your target audience.

How do you find sales prospect?

This is a bit trickier, but not impossible. Here’s how you can find sales prospect with LinkedIn:

Search for keywords related to your industry + city.

For example, let’s say you wanted to find sales prospects in New York City. A common keyword phrase would be “New York Sales Prospect”. If you were running a startup, you could search for “startup New York”. Both searches would bring back results matching that criteria.

Type the following query into the Advanced Search box:

(keyword) AND location:(cityname)

Click the link below to filter the results according to your desired criteria.

Now that you’ve narrowed your search, you can explore the top five pages found. Click the Next button to view the rest of the search results. Keep scrolling until you finally land on the actual person you’re looking for.

Hopefully, you now have a clearer idea of how to find someone’s phone number from LinkedIn. With some practice, you’ll soon discover how valuable this feature is. It’s incredibly convenient to be able to find others' phone numbers without leaving your desk.

And yes, there are plenty of legitimate reasons to obtain sensitive information. Just remember that LinkedIn doesn’t store any data locally. So, there’s no danger of any malicious activity happening here. All the information you collect is securely stored on the cloud servers owned by LinkedIn, Inc.

LinkedIn has become one of the most popular professional networking platforms in recent times, but it’s not just used by business professionals anymore – anyone looking for advice or job opportunities will be more likely to use this platform than any other social media site out there. But what if your dream is to have an all-knowing friend that could tell you everything about everyone? Well, thanks to LinkedIn, you don't need to worry! You can now easily find people's contact details using only their email address or phone number.

If you're like me, and you've spent years trying to figure out how to get someone's contact information (or even worse, how to get their password) then you'll probably know exactly why finding someone's contact information is such a big deal. It makes life easier when you are able to communicate directly with someone instead of having to go through an intermediary. This is especially true when you want to talk to someone about something important - like getting into university, applying for a new job, or starting up a side project. So here we take a look at some of the best ways to get someone's contact information from LinkedIn.

How can I get someone's contact information?

There are two main ways to do this. The first method involves requesting their contact information via their profile page, which is the default way to connect with others as long as they haven’t blocked you yet. If they have, you might still be able to access their contact details by clicking “Contact Info” under their name. But sometimes this doesn’t work, so let’s try another route.

The second method is to send them a direct message. To do this, click "Send Message" underneath the person’s picture in your inbox. Then type away in the box provided, whether it's asking for personal details or simply offering help. Of course, you should always make sure you spell the person’s name correctly before sending the message. And while you won’t necessarily receive a response immediately, you may well receive a reply within 24 hours – although it might be longer depending on their availability.

While these methods aren’t foolproof, they usually give you enough time to reach out to them offline or over email. However, if you really want to speed things along, you can also use LinkedIn’s API to pull down contact data from its database.

Here’s how to do that:

Go to www.linkedin.com/developer/. There you will find a list of APIs available to developers. Click Get Started Now button next to the API you want to use. Once you complete the process, download the file and open it. Within the code you’ll find instructions on where to enter your credentials and how to retrieve the results. When done, copy the URL and paste it into your browser’s search bar. That’s it! All your requested information will appear automatically.

Once you have found their LinkedIn account, you can use the following steps to obtain their contact information:

Click People Search.

Enter the person’s full name and choose the location.

Choose Contact Information.

Copy the LinkedIN Profile ID

Open your developer portal and click GET NEXT PAGE

Paste the Linkedin Profile ID in the field labeled LinkedinProfileId

Make sure you include the leading / character in front of the LinkedinProfileID value. For example: /AOZnWVcqE7y4jfzX6gN9Ih3rKLJw

You will receive a JSON object containing the same fields as shown below:

How can I get contact details of someone?

As mentioned above, you can get someone’s contact details by accessing their profile page. To do this, log in to your LinkedIn account, navigate to the profile page of the individual you wish to target, and select the menu item called ‘Contact Info’.

Alternatively, you can use the built-in messaging feature on LinkedIn. Go to the profile page of the person you would like to approach, and click Send Message under the user's photo. In the resulting window, write the person a short note explaining why you'd like to speak with him or her.

After doing this, wait around 48 hours for a reply – though it’s possible you might never hear back.

How can I get someone's contact information for free?

One option is to sign up for LinkedIn Premium. While it might seem expensive at $29 per month, it does come with several perks including increased storage space, additional security features, and advanced analytics tools. These extra features allow marketers to better understand their audience and create targeted campaigns based on interest groups and demographics. They can also track performance metrics on every campaign, allowing businesses to improve ROI.

Another option is to use a third party service like LeadPages. With this tool, users can build landing pages, squeeze pages, sales funnels, and opt-in forms to generate leads online. Using lead capture software, visitors can fill out forms, submit their emails, and provide their names, addresses, and phone numbers. After collecting the data, LeadPages sends the information to a dedicated server where it can be stored until needed. Users can view their collected data anytime, and export it to Excel or PDF format.

Can you find someone's phone number on LinkedIn?

Yes, but again, it depends on how much privacy you care about. As far as LinkedIn is concerned, once you request a phone number from someone, it becomes public knowledge. So if you plan to call them, please keep that in mind!

To find someone’s phone number on LinkedIn, first you must locate their email address. You can do that either by searching for it on the network itself or by typing in their username followed by @linkedIn.com.

Now that you have their email address, head over to the Contacts tab on LinkedIn. Select the “People” dropdown and choose “Find contacts”. Enter the email address you had previously entered and hit search. You’ll find the phone number right beneath the email address.

In order to verify that the number belongs to the individual whose email address you typed, you can follow the link inside the phone number. On the webpage that opens, you’ll notice that the website says “This phone number belongs to [name]”.

All you need to do now is dial the given number and hope for the best.
