Is it worth paying for LinkedIn premium?

Is it worth paying for LinkedIn premium?

LinkedIn has always been a free platform to connect with people in your industry or profession. But now that the COVID-19 pandemic has made many of us stay at home more often, LinkedIn has also created new ways for professionals to find jobs, make connections, and expand their network—all while staying safe from coronavirus.

So what exactly are those "new" tools? How do they work? And can you expect them to be around when we go back to normal life? Let’s take a closer look at what LinkedIn offers today.

Which LinkedIn Premium is best for job seekers?

If you want to use LinkedIn as an effective tool for finding a new job, then one of the most important things you need to know is which LinkedIn Premium plan works best for this purpose. This will depend on both your current situation (current employer, current salary) and your future goals (what level of job search you’re planning to engage in). If you’ve already landed a job but have no intention of leaving anytime soon, then LinkedIn Business Premium might not be right for you. While it does offer some additional perks over standard LinkedIn, such as custom domain names and email addresses, the main benefit here is access to LinkedIn Recruiter. It allows you to post your resume directly to recruiters who specialize in hiring specific skillsets, thus increasing your chances of landing a dream job. However, if you're looking for a change, LinkedIn Professional might be just right for you. Here, you get all the same features and functionality as the Business version, plus extra features like advanced analytics and data insights, and the ability to create custom reports. The only downside is that it comes with a higher price tag than the other two versions. For example, the cheapest plan costs $25 per month, whereas Business Premium goes for $65/month.

Is LinkedIn premium really worth it?

In addition to the above points, there are several reasons why LinkedIn Premium could actually be worthwhile for you. First, as we mentioned earlier, LinkedIn Recruiter makes it easier to land a position by providing direct access to employers via their website. Second, even though you don't pay for LinkedIn Premium, you still receive value out of it because of the added features and capabilities. Third, LinkedIn Premium doesn't come with any hidden fees or charges once you've signed up. Finally, LinkedIn Premium includes a few extras that aren't available anywhere else. These include custom domains, dedicated customer support, and a better user experience overall.

Let's take a deeper dive into each of these points below.

What is difference between premium LinkedIn and regular?

If you compare LinkedIn Premium and regular, you'll notice that the latter is missing quite a few key features. That means you won't be able to access certain groups or see certain ads. You'll also be unable to upload files larger than 5MB, and you won't be able to send emails without using the InMail system. On top of this, you'll miss out on numerous integrations, such as connecting with Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, Salesforce, Slack, Trello, Zendesk, Box, Dropbox, GitHub, and so on. So basically, you'd be giving up a lot of power for something that isn't necessarily worth it.

Is it worth getting LinkedIn premium?

Overall, yes! Even though you may think that everything you get with LinkedIn Standard is enough, it's not. There are plenty of features and functionalities that you simply cannot get elsewhere unless you upgrade to Premium. Plus, you can easily test whether Premium would be a good fit for you before committing yourself to a monthly payment.

Here are some examples of what you get with LinkedIn Premium:

Access to LinkedIn Groups – This gives you access to thousands of relevant communities where you can share ideas and learn new things.

Advanced Analytics – Get detailed insight into how you interact with content on LinkedIn.

Custom Domain Name - Create a unique URL to show off your brand identity.

Email Address - No longer limited to @linkedin.com, you can choose any address you wish.

Data Insights – See information about your followers, friends, followers' friends, and more.

Export Data - Easily export your contacts, posts, networks, etc.

Premium Account Features - Sign up for unlimited searches, updates, and downloads.

Recruiter Tools - Post your resume directly to hundreds of recruitment sites.

Reach More People - Share your profile with anyone who's connected to you.

Revisions & Updates - Stay ahead of trends with instant edits and revisions.

Search Ads - Receive targeted, personalized ads based on your interests, location, and more.

Social Ads - Boost your visibility online through sponsored social media posts.

Upload Files - Upload large documents straight to LinkedIn.

Visibility Settings - Control who sees your profile, recommendations, and activity.

These are just some of the highlights of LinkedIn Premium. To read more about all of the features, visit our post on the 10 Things You Should Know About LinkedIn Premium.

How much is linkedin premium?

Now let's talk about the actual price of LinkedIn Premium. As was previously stated, LinkedIn Premium costs either $25 per month ($30 after 12 months), $35 per month ($40 after 24 months), or $45 per month ($50 after 36 months). Of course, there are discounts too, depending on the length of subscription.

For example, if you subscribe for three years, you'll save 20% compared to the full price (assuming you start the subscription immediately). If you subscribe for five years, you'll save 30%. Lastly, if you subscribe for seven years, you'll save 40%, and so forth. Just keep in mind that the prices listed above are subject to change, so check back periodically to see if LinkedIn raised their rates.

As far as price increases go, LinkedIn announced that they were raising their rates by 50 cents starting January 1st 2021. According to LinkedIn's press release, the rate hike is due to "increased investment in global marketing efforts."

Finally, the question remains: Is LinkedIn premium worth it? We believe that it depends on how long you intend to remain active on LinkedIn, as well as your personal financial situation. If you're currently unemployed and looking for a way to earn money remotely, then LinkedIn Premium could definitely help you achieve that goal. Otherwise, you should probably stick to LinkedIn Standard until you secure a job.

Also, keep in mind that LinkedIn Premium is a paid service; therefore, you shouldn't try to use it as a substitute for your existing social media accounts, especially Facebook and Twitter. Although LinkedIn Premium is similar to these platforms in terms of functionality, the differences are clear. For instance, LinkedIn Premium lets you build professional relationships and collaborate across different industries, whereas Facebook and Twitter allow you to maintain casual friendships and communicate with strangers.

And lastly, remember that LinkedIn Premium isn't meant to replace your primary social media account(s); instead, it's intended to complement them. If you're currently working on improving your LinkedIn profile, then you should consider upgrading to Premium first, rather than trying to simultaneously manage multiple accounts.

Should I cancel my LinkedIn Premium membership?

While it's true that LinkedIn Premium is a great deal for all kinds of users, it's also true that it's not perfect. Therefore, if you're unsatisfied with your decision to purchase LinkedIn Premium, you should seriously reconsider. After all, canceling your subscription will result in losing access to the services you've purchased.

To avoid being stuck in limbo, however, you should consider signing up for a short-term trial period first. Then, if you decide that you don't like Premium, you can cancel your subscription. By doing this, you won't lose anything except time. Also, this approach will give you the opportunity to ask questions regarding the services you've received during the trial period.

Once you've decided to continue with LinkedIn Premium, there are still steps you can take to ensure that you're making the best possible choice. One thing you should do is to regularly review your usage history. Check out our article on how to monitor your LinkedIn usage to find out more about this process. Another option is to set up alerts. Through these alerts, you'll receive notifications whenever someone connects to your LinkedIn profile or shares your status update. You can also add keywords to your alert settings to make sure you never miss an important update related to your career field.

Can I cancel my LinkedIn Premium subscription?

LinkedIn has been around since 2003. The professional social network offers a lot of value to freelancers and small businesses looking to connect with peers in their industry or find new clients. If you're not sure whether or not LinkedIn is right for your needs, check out our article on the basics of LinkedIn before deciding on whether or not you need premium.

If you are ready to take advantage of all that LinkedIn can offer, then there are two different ways to pay for this service. You can either choose between the free plan (which limits you to three custom posts per month) or the paid version which comes at $15/month but gives you more flexibility when posting content. There is also an option for students who want something cheaper than the standard rate.

Let’s dive into the details of each level of LinkedIn membership so we can decide what is best for you.

Why LinkedIn premium is worth the money?

While LinkedIn Free may seem like the better deal, it does have some drawbacks. For one, many people don't realize that they aren't getting as much from the platform. They often only post once every few months instead of several times throughout the week. As well, most users will never get beyond 10 connections because of the limited amount of time allowed while using the app.

The main reason why people upgrade to LinkedIn Premium is because they know they won't be able to use the platform without spending money. This means they'll get access to additional features such as sending personalized emails, exporting data, creating groups, and adding extra contacts. In addition, LinkedIn Premium allows them to schedule events, create videos, and do other things that would otherwise require the purchase of another app.

Another benefit of upgrading to Premium is that you can get rid of ads on the site. While these ads help keep the website running smoothly, they are annoying especially for those who do not use ad blockers. With the paid subscription, you get to skip these ads altogether.

One thing you might notice when comparing the two options is that LinkedIn Premium costs $15 per month whereas the LinkedIn Free tier is only available through the company's mobile apps. However, the difference in terms of functionality is more significant. Even though the app is free, you still need to pay for the monthly subscription fee.

Is LinkedIn 2022 worth it?

When looking at the prices offered by various companies, you’ll see that LinkedIn isn't alone. Facebook charges $10 per month while Google offers both Gmail Pro ($5 per month) and G Suite ($6 per user). Microsoft offers Office 365 Basic ($99 annually), Business Professional Plus ($149 annually), and Enterprise E3 ($199 annually). These are just a few examples of the high rates companies charge.

However, even though these services may appear to be similar, the differences in features make it clear that each package has a unique purpose. It doesn't matter if you're going to make heavy use of email or work on projects with colleagues across the globe -- everyone should consider their own budget when choosing the right package.

The same goes for LinkedIn. You could easily spend upwards of $100 per year on this app depending on how frequently you log onto the site. But, even if you only use LinkedIn occasionally, you shouldn't think twice about signing up for the Premium plan.

You’re likely already familiar with the basic functions of LinkedIn. So, let's break down exactly what you get when you subscribe to Premium.

- Posting updates: One of the biggest reasons why people upgrade to LinkedIn Premium is so they can update their status regularly. Not only can you share newsworthy information, but you can also link your profile page to other websites. This way, anyone visiting your profile will receive valuable insight into your life outside of the workplace.

- Advanced analytics: When it comes to analyzing the performance of your business, you can expect to gain insights via LinkedIn Analytics. This feature lets you track metrics such as views, reach, engagement, and more. Additionally, you can get detailed reports based on search activity, demographics, and interactions.

- Email marketing: If you haven't taken advantage of LinkedIn's email marketing capabilities yet, now is a great time to start! Whether you want to send promotional emails, newsletters, or reminders, you can set up automated campaigns that go live whenever certain actions occur.

- Customized templates: Most marketers love the ability to customize everything they put out online. And, that includes what gets posted to LinkedIn. With Premium, you can design customized landing pages, welcome messages, and more. If you'd rather stick to the default template, however, you can always change the look of your profile page.

- Content syndication: You probably didn't catch this one, but the ability to repost articles is another perk of becoming a member of LinkedIn Premium. Once you publish a piece of content, you can select specific audiences to whom you want to share it. Then, you can choose whether or not to allow others to view your publication.

- Scheduling events: Another helpful tool that comes with LinkedIn Premium is the ability to add event dates to your calendar. This makes scheduling meetings easier than ever. You can invite guests, assign tasks, and manage all the logistics involved in holding a meeting.

- Video creation: If you enjoy making YouTube clips, then you definitely want to become a subscriber to LinkedIn Premium. With this feature, you can record short video presentations that showcase your expertise. Afterward, you can upload the finished product directly to YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, and more.

Which LinkedIn Premium is best?

It really depends on what kind of job you have. If you work remotely and rarely meet with co-workers face-to-face, then LinkedIn Premium is ideal. On the other hand, if you work in an office setting where you interact with dozens of employees during any given day, then you'll probably prefer having access to the Standard plan.

If you're in doubt about which package is best for you, here are a couple of tips:

- Don't forget to include your goals when thinking about your usage patterns. Are you planning on writing blog posts? Or maybe you want to start selling products? Knowing what you want to accomplish with your account helps determine which service is right for you.

- Figure out how often you feel comfortable logging onto LinkedIn. If you're someone who uses the platform daily, then you'll probably opt for the Premium plan. On the other hand, if you only use the website from time to time, then you may want to save your money.

- Find out if you've missed anything by subscribing to the Standard plan first. Although you'll miss out on advanced features, you can still use LinkedIn's tools without worrying about paying for a separate product.

In general, it seems that LinkedIn is the go-to place for professionals across industries. That being said, the platform is constantly evolving. So, if you have questions about how to improve your experience, you can consult our guide to LinkedIn for beginners. Otherwise, head over to Reddit and ask a question about LinkedIn Premium. We're happy to answer whatever queries you have.

LinkedIn has a number of paid services that can help you improve your professional life. One such service, called LinkedIn Premium, lets users connect with other professionals in their industry to find potential jobs or clients. But what exactly are all these different options? And which one will best suit your needs? Let’s take a look at each option so you can decide whether it’s right for you.

Is LinkedIn Premium 2022 worth it?

If you want to expand on your network beyond family and friends, then LinkedIn Premium may be perfect for you. The platform offers a wide range of tools to make finding contacts easier. You can search by company name, job title, location, education level, skillset, interest, and more. If you have access to an employer’s database, you can also use this feature to find people who work there.

You can also join groups where members share information about their experience in various industries. This allows you to learn from others as well as build relationships with them. Plus, you can ask questions to receive advice or tips on specific topics. These group discussions often include Q&A sessions, so you can speak directly with experts in the field.

To keep track of all the connections you've made, LinkedIn keeps a list of everyone you're connected to. It does this automatically based off your profile data, but you can manually add new connections anytime too. You'll also need to pay $29 per month to maintain your account. However, you don't have to pay every month -- you can cancel your subscription whenever you want.

Is it worth paying for premium LinkedIn?

The answer depends on how you plan to use LinkedIn. As mentioned above, LinkedIn Premium makes searching for contacts easier than ever before. Even better, you can create custom searches based on a specific criteria like job titles or locations. For example, let’s say you wanted to locate someone who works at Google in San Francisco. With LinkedIn Premium, you could just type “Google SF” into the search bar and connect with anyone who matches those parameters.

However, while LinkedIn Premium is useful, some people still prefer using regular searches instead. In fact, many people prefer doing both. So, if you only rely on LinkedIn Premium, you might not benefit from it enough to justify the extra cost. That said, there are plenty of reasons why you would want to upgrade to LinkedIn Premium.

For starters, LinkedIn Premium gives you access to exclusive content. For instance, you can view featured profiles of leaders in your chosen industry (this includes CEOs, C-level executives, entrepreneurs, etc.). You can also read articles written by top influencers within that niche. There are even weekly newsletters filled with curated picks for you to read.

Another reason why you might consider upgrading to LinkedIn Premium is because it helps you stand out among your peers. When you apply for a job, recruiters typically check your social media accounts first to see if you’re active on any platforms. Unfortunately, most employers assume that you won’t post anything meaningful on Facebook or Twitter. They therefore ignore you when applying for positions unless they know you personally.

LinkedIn Premium solves this problem. Now, recruiters will recognize your presence on LinkedIn and reach out to you. Not only that, but they’ll also be able to see everything else you post on your profile page. From there, they’ll know what kind of person you are and whether or not they want to hire you.

While LinkedIn Premium isn’t necessary for getting hired, it definitely comes in handy after you land the job. Once you start working, you’ll likely interact with people outside of your current circle. Because of that, knowing who they are and being able to easily communicate with them becomes important.

Plus, LinkedIn Premium gives you access to advanced search filters. Instead of having to sift through hundreds of results, you can narrow down your search to only show relevant results. This saves time and effort, especially if you’re looking for something specific.

How do I get LinkedIn premium for free 2022?

If you don’t want to spend money on LinkedIn Premium, there’s always another way to gain access to its perks. Thankfully, LinkedIn offers several ways to try out its products without shelling out cash.

First, you can download the LinkedIn app on iOS and Android devices. While this doesn’t give you full functionality, you can still send emails, browse newsfeeds, update your status, and reply to messages. Another great perk of downloading the mobile version of LinkedIn is that it syncs with your desktop browser seamlessly.

Next, you can click the Get Started button next to the Explore section on the homepage. Here, you can watch 30-minute videos designed to teach you basic functions like creating a profile and searching for jobs. Just remember that these aren’t actual lessons on how to use LinkedIn effectively -- they’re meant to introduce you to the product.

Lastly, you can enroll in a trial period of either three days or seven days. During this timeframe, you’ll have limited access to certain features, but you’ll be allowed to upload photos, send emails, and respond to messages. Afterward, you’ll be charged accordingly depending on which method you chose.

Can LinkedIn premium see anonymous 2022?

As far as we know, LinkedIn currently sees no data regarding your identity. Therefore, you shouldn’t worry about becoming known publicly on the site. Still, LinkedIn does collect user data during signups. This means that if you choose to remain anonymous, LinkedIn can still identify you by analyzing your email address.

Even though LinkedIn knows your email address, however, you cannot be tracked across multiple websites simply by logging onto the same account. Also, since LinkedIn uses encrypted passwords, your password history won’t be shared between sites. Finally, if you change your password, LinkedIn won’t store old versions of it.

Because of this, you’re unlikely to run into any problems related to privacy concerns. Still, if you don’t feel comfortable sharing your personal details online, you can always opt for private messaging. On the flip side, you can also turn off public notifications if you don’t want to be bothered with friend requests.

With LinkedIn premium costing over $100 annually, it seems as though there are plenty of advantages to joining. It’s easy to see why so many people enjoy using the platform. Nevertheless, if you think it’s not worth spending the money, there are plenty of alternatives available.

LinkedIn is also home to a lot of additional features that may appeal to you. Depending on what you’d like to accomplish, you can tailor your membership to fit your needs. Whether you want to enhance your career opportunities, build lasting friendships, or become famous overnight, LinkedIn can help you achieve whatever you set out to do.
